= an archetypical 👤 User whose goals and characteristics represent the needs of a larger group of users¹

Why? §

• avoids “elastic user” → can’t please everyone
• avoid self-referential design (→ 👨‍💻 Developer UX bias)
• quick, cheap

How? §

• identify 2-6 different user groups
• abstract and combine similarities
• describe the similarities as a relatable person (→ Template)
