= “intrinsic nature”

What is intrinsic nature? §

• E.g. a bike has no intrinsic nature, because it “disappears” under analysis (inspecting it’s parts, taking it apart)
  • -> intrinsic nature does not disappear under analysis
  • -> e.g. water has intrinsic nature (or so they thought back in the early days of Buddhism, when atoms were unknown)

What has intrinsic nature? §

• Has: ultimate truths
• Has not: conventional truths
