Appending “…です” to a noun turns it into a predicate noun.

Negation

Appending “…じや([では])　ありません” to a noun is the negated version

📖 Example:

わたしは　かいしきんです

= I am an employee

わたしは　かいしきんじや　ありません

= I am not an employee
