🌿 Ideas

Ideas I currently think about. See 🧑‍🌾 How this garden grows for how ideas flow through the vault.

 MacOS

  • App that provides AI shortcut building blocks: Ask AI, Transcribe Audio, Generate Image
  • GPT siri via shortcuts app and agent loop

👨‍💻 Apps

  • App monetization - free core, paid customization, sponsorship tiers — cross-app IAP idea: keep features free, sell customization (icons, themes) in 100 tiers, top tier commissions a custom icon via a redeemable in-app token. Hibi-side specialization: Hibi Plus adds early access + a post-stamp purchase certificate (5/22).
  • Feediary
    • lets you add x websites (with login data or even easier just sessions in general), which it then scrapes once a day to present a feed (one mixed and per website each); entries contain links to the original e.g. posts.
    • Agent-loop variant: 💡 Daily feed summarizer agent — same problem, routed through Claude Code instead of a standalone app.
  • Licht
    • app to show golden/blue hour (+ shadow map)
    • also weatherkit integration
    • also sunset index + predictions for the next days
  • 💡 Weather app with better data
    • iOS/macOS weather app with Google-tier weather data, Japan-aware, nice design

📸 Photography

  • Photo edited with sky being under a dome
  • Finger tracking, hand opens up and shows new picture
  • Light Bender lens boutique — niche boutique in Osaka selling camera lenses + in-house filters (Lichtbrecher)
  • Prism Light App — app or design exploration based on prisms, light-bending, and refraction effects

🎮 Games

  • 🎮 Hitonami — Crowd Walking Game — endless runner through Japan’s crowds. Stations, shopping arcades, festivals, temple approaches. Dodge ojisan, weave past tourists, survive reroutes.

🇯🇵 Japanese

  • Yomitan popup dictionary but native for macOS

🎨 Design workflows

📒 Paper & stationery

  • Paper-feel software inspired by Japanese paper culture — observation seed: Japan’s kami / 文房具 culture + Germany’s engineering precision form a duopoly in premium paper; idea is to translate that “high-quality paper feel” into software (calendar, note-taking apps).
  • Claude on Japanese-German paper culture and design properties — Claude’s reference response to the above: confirms the JP/DE duopoly, names France/Italy as the blind spot, lists products to study (Hobonichi Techo, Midori MD, Leuchtturm1917, Stalogy 365) and concrete design properties (weight, opacity, color warmth, ruling, tactile resistance) translatable to software.
  • Plotter and Swiss typography — addendum: Plotter (Designphil’s modular leather binder) and Swiss typography (Müller-Brockmann, grid-based International Style) as two more pointers to study.
  • Paper as an affordable luxury good — 5/19 follow-up: the why under the paper-culture pull — notebooks are uniquely accessible luxury (perfection-via-craft, not scarcity), and daily use makes quality compound. Reframes paper-feel software toward luxury-as-care, not luxury-as-paywall.
  • Paper-feel software micro-mechanics - drying, sound, aging, grids — 5/21 micro-mechanics layer: drying-time settle, page Foley, 経年変化 patina, grid layouts. The first concrete UX moves the thread proposes for Hibi / Zettel.

🤖 AI / Agent Architecture

  • Agent-Native Software Architecture — no-code software pattern: orchestrator → sub-agents (classes) → skills (functions) → MCP (APIs); self-healing, terminal-first, context window as RAM
  • Kumo — agent-native cloud file storage; the storage-layer instance of the agent-native pattern (now in 🛠️ In progress)

🪨 Obsidian

  • Quartz plugin to render query code blocks

Other

  • Restaurant “For Two”, where guests have e.g. one of their hand tied to their partner - they have to eat with one hand each or help each other with the tied hands
